FANTASTIC SHORTS COMPETITION CHAPTER I

Dance Half Naked. Drink Beer. Do Drugs. Have Sex. Genre fans know how to draw masked murderers out – as does the vengeful main protagonist in the cunning one-take meta-movie “Night of the Slasher”. But that’s about it when it comes to conventions: The rest of the program offers full scope to the absurd, the surreal and the grotesque. A stop-motion battle between fruit and baked goods becomes a fruit-flesh and crumb massacre on the same level as that of St. Bartholomew’s day. Two trappers on an alcohol and slow motion frenzy lose touch with reality. A quite different animal documentary follows the hypnotic behavior of pale, disgusting maggots. Anyone who finds this all sickening will find himself in his element in the jolly mutating cartoon “Summer’s Puke is Winter’s Delight“ – but the anus and its versatile means of expression won’t fall short either. And last but not least one for the heart: a lovesick butcher’s psycho-trip in black and white with an opera duet as chucker-out, after all /slash has always been a stronghold of advanced civilization.
