THE GREASY STRANGLER

Fr, 30.09. | 23:00

If you lump together the movies of Harmony Korine and Ulrich Seidl, and add a taste of the complete works of Troma and the early John Waters, and then throw them into a mixer and press the start button, the result will be “The Greasy Strangler”. A beast of a movie, that belongs to no particular category, somewhere between mind-fuck and brain-fart, irresistibly resting in itself, one almost goes out of one’s mind longing for a bucket of rancid fat. Grease rules supreme, at least for Big Ronnie (unbelievable Michael St. Michaels), this old man brutalized through and through, who lives in an old greasy house, together with his lethargic son Big Brayden. The ancient doter demands fat, fat and more fat and shoves it into his mouth by the spoonful – with fatal consequences: At night he turns into “The Greasy Strangler”, a creature covered head to toe in grease, who strolls murdering through the surrounding neighborhood. Jim Hosking’s first feature length film is an calm triumph of bad taste, a complete embrace of weirdness, after which you want to vomit, shower or go stand in a car-wash naked. Since the WTF quality seal is subject to rapid inflation these days, we hereby declare “The Greasy Strangler” as the first WTFF (What the fucking fuck!) movie. Enjoy your meal!

Producer Ant Timpson will be present at the Industry Days.
